Intervention:
The slack and loose upper arm skin is cut out in T form and the remaining skin is lifted by further releasing from the underside.
Duration:
1 to 2 hours
Anaesthesia:
general anaesthesia, rarely local anaesthesia
Surgeries - Upper arm lift
Ambulatory or in-stationary:
in-stationary, rarely ambulatory
Post-treatment:
The patient suffers from slight pain for 1 to 2 days and from a temporary swelling even at the hands. The scar is situated longwise inwards at the back or has the form of a hockey racket and is not visible in regard of a normal body posture.
Risks:
Broad scars, temporary numbness.
Recovery:
The sutures are removed after three weeks. It is recommended to wearing slight compression stockings for 6 weeks. Slight activities are possible after one week. You are fully operational after two weeks; sports are possible after 4 weeks.
