Intervention:
Slack soft parts of the face at cheek, chin and neck are lifted and are repositioned by removing excessive fat. The muscles are lifted; excessive skin is resected and remodelled. Scope and technique are adjusted individually.
Duration:
2 to 3 hours
Surgeries - Facelift
Anaesthesia:
general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia with twilight sleep
Ambulatory or in-stationary:
preferably in-stationary but ambulatory is also possible
Post-treatment:
Swelling, temporary slight numbness, tension sensation. We do without tight bandages after the surgery. The scar is situated at the temple region and enters into the external auditory canal; it goes around the earlobe and disappears behind the ear.
Risks:
Infection, increased bleeding, wound healing disorders, excessive scarring, injury with temporary paralysis of the nerves that supply the facial muscles.
Recovery:
Normal activities are possible after 10 to 14 days. Sports are possible after 4 weeks. The scars should not be exposed to sunlight. The intervention is stable for about 10 years and depends on the individual skin conditions (sun, weight modifications, habit). Rarely, an early renewed relaxation is possible. The intervention can be repeated.
