Intervention :
Correction of hanging and partly swollen upper lids, lacrimal sacs and slack skin at the lower lids by removal of excessive skin, muscular and fatty tissue.
Duration:
1 to 2 hours
Surgeries - Eye lid correction
Anaesthesia:
normally local, twilight sleep if necessary
Ambulatory or in-stationary:
normally ambulatory
Post-treatment:
The scars are situated crosswise in a wrinkle at the upper lid and are rarely visible after a few weeks. In regard of the lower lid, they are situated crosswise and dense below the lashes and are also rarely visible after a few weeks. Swelling and a tension sensation for a few days is normal and is relieved by medications, temporary increased lacrimal flow is also possible. Bruises can be covered by sunglasses.
Risks:
Secondary bleedings are very seldom, hanging lower lids are seldom and only temporary. Excessive scarring is also very exceptional.
Recovery:
Sutures are removed after 4 days. The swelling also decreases after 4 days.
Back to work and normal activities after 1 week.
