Surgeries - Breast reduction

Anaesthesia:
general anaesthesia

Ambulatory or in-stationary:
in-stationary (for three to four days), possible ambulatory stay in regard of smaller breasts

Post-treatment:
Tension sensations, swellings and haematomas are normal. The derivations are removed after 24 hours. The scar is situated around the nipple margin and is situated vertically between the lower margin of the nipple and the lower breast fold (Lejour technique).
Temporally, this vertical scar is wrinkled (pleated) for a few weeks but it rasps again.

Risks:
Increased bleeding, inflammation, broader and irregular scars, temporary hypaesthesia in regard of the nipple. A minimal secondary correction under local anaesthesia becomes sometimes necessary.

Recovery:
Normal activities are possible after one to two weeks; sports are possible after 6 weeks. The sutures dissolve for the most part by themselves. The skin and breast tissue loosens again corresponding to the normal aging process or in regard of weight modifications.
The sutures are resorbable and don't have to be removed.
