Intervention:
The breast lift or mastopexy is performed to lift and rebuild atonic and hanging breasts. The deep breast nipples are brought in a higher and more juvenile position. The surgery may lead to an improved form, strength and size of the breast and may even out extremer differences of the breast (asymmetries).

Duration:
1 to 3 hours
Anaesthesia:
normally general anaesthesia; local anaesthesia with twilight sleep is possible in regard of smaller lifts
Ambulatory or in-stationary:
ambulatory in regard of healthy women
Post-treatment:
Tension sensation, swelling, haematomas and bruises are normal. Possible derivations are removed after 24 hours. The scar is situated only around the nipple or you will have an additional scar that is situated vertical and slightly above the breast fold (Lejour technique).
Risks:
Increased bleeding, inflammation, broader and irregular scars, temporary numbness sensation within the nipple.
Recovery:
Normal activities are possible after one to two weeks; sports are possible after 6 weeks. The sutures remain for about 2 weeks. The scar that is reddened at the beginning fades within one year. The skin and the breast tissue relaxes according to the normal aging process or in regard of weight modifications.
