Intervention:
Size and form of the breast is changed by an implantation of a special cohesive (not leaking) prosthesis filled with silicone gel that is adapted to each breast. The prosthesis is positioned individually under or above the breast muscle.

Duration:
1 to 2 hours
Anaesthesia:
general anaesthesia, rarely local anaesthesia and twilight sleep
Ambulatory or in-stationary:
ambulatory, rarely in-stationary
Post-treatment:
The scars with a length of 4 to 5 cm are situated at the nipple margin, at the axilla or at the lower breast fold depending on the selected passageway.
More or less intensive swelling and tension sensation in regard of the breasts and slight pain while moving the arms that consists for a few days and that may be treated by medications. Wearing a special bra secures and supports the result.
Risks:
Infections, secondary bleeding and rarely a hardening by formation of a so-called capsular fibrosis.
Recovery:
The sutures that are situated in the skin are removed after about 1 week.
Back to work: after about 1 week.
Lying face down should be avoided for four weeks. Sports are possible after four weeks.
